Campus B Summit:

An event to reflect, learn, and shape the future

Last month, our office team and local coordinators gathered in São Paulo for the very first Campus B Summit. Over three days together, we reflected on the core aspects of our work and explored how we can continue to improve — strengthening our impact on students, universities, companies, and the communities we engage with.

The Summit combined workshops, collaborative activities, and just as importantly, moments of connection, celebration, and shared experiences. It was also a special opportunity to celebrate Campus B’s 15-year journey, surrounded by the people who help bring our mission to life every day.  In this text, we share some of the main lessons learned from these three unique days!

“Six different nationalities. A 47-year age gap. More than ten academic backgrounds. This is the incredible diversity that came together  for the first-ever Campus B Summit.

It was inspiring to see how these different perspectives, stories, and experiences come together to form one team. The office team, with its behind-the-scenes dedication, and the coordinators, with their on-the-ground leadership, each bring essential strengths that make Campus B what it is.”

Founder and CEO

1. Safety and Crisis Management: A Masterclass

Our local coordinators play one of the most critical roles at Campus B: ensuring that each program runs as smoothly and safely as possible. Being with the group 24/7, they provide constant support to students and faculty leaders — from simple tasks like translating or helping choose a meal, to navigating complex situations that require preparation, sound judgment, and deep human sensitivity.

In a collaborative session led by Renato Góes, our most experienced coordinator — part of the team since 2015 and responsible for coordinating over 60 groups — participants reflected on real-life, high-stakes situations they have faced in the field. These conversations highlighted the importance of proactivity, agile thinking, and effective crisis management in unpredictable contexts.

These discussions reinforced how preparation, experience, and shared learning are essential to delivering meaningful and secure international programs.

2. Mental Health and Well-Being

Another key moment of the Summit was dedicated to a topic that is essential, yet often overlooked amid daily demands: mental health and well-being. Through a workshop led by Karen Góes, founder of Bloomdip, we explored the factors that most influence our sense of well-being.

Participants were invited to complete a personal well-being radar, reflecting individually on areas such as nutrition, sleep, routine, and physical movement. This exercise offered a clearer picture of personal strengths and areas that deserve more care and attention.

Karen has worked closely with Campus B over the past five years in people management and organizational development. Her contribution has been fundamental to strengthening our mental health initiatives and nurturing a participatory, human-centered culture. Learning from her once again reinforced how caring for people is inseparable from building a sustainable organization.

3. What Future Do We Want to Build?

We concluded the Summit with a forward-looking activity focused on the question: How do we envision Campus B evolving in the years ahead? Using a Future Thinking approach — a strategic methodology designed to anticipate possible futures and support better decision-making today — the session was facilitated by Ivan Petry, a key contributor to the development of our internal gatherings over the years.

The exercise invited us to see Campus B as a living organism and to reflect, both individually and collectively, on the actions that should guide our next steps. Many ideas emerged, but one stood out clearly: the creation of a Campus B educational institution — an institutional arm dedicated to expanding our impact, DEI initiatives, and social development efforts.

As a certified B Corp, we continuously seek ways to amplify our positive impact. The idea of a future Campus Foundation aligns strongly with our purpose and long-term vision. Could this initiative soon take its first steps?

LOOKING AHEAD:

The Summit was a powerful experience of learning, connection, and celebration. Being part of such a qualified, diverse, and deeply human team is a privilege, and seeing this group grow and envision even greater possibilities makes the journey even more meaningful.

Here’s to many more Campus B Summits to come.
